Hey! I'm Melissa! I’m a lifestyle content creator, wife, and mama living in Nashville with my husband and our two little ones! I’m learning to slow down and build a life that’s rooted in what matters—faith, family, and presence. I’m not perfect, but every day I try to choose love, gratitude, and growth over pressure and perfection. My goal with this space is to share honest moments and creative inspiration that help you feel less alone and more connected to the beauty of everyday life.

Day in the life | Tennessee fools fall and hiking

Another beautiful fall day in Tennessee is upon us!

We’re working on getting Lucia, our 9-month-old Vizsla, acclimated in society. She really is a great puppy but we’re just working out and accepting that some of the puppy behaviors take time.

The biggest ones we’re hoping to break through are jumping on people and lunging to play with dogs. Both are out of love and seeking love and play, but we don’t want a dog that jumps on people and for her safety she obviously can’t be pulling toward dogs.

So today we’re planning to take her to a neighborhood yard sale so she can be around people and hands and practice not jumping.

Then we’re planning on taking her on a hike so we can practice some more leash training and hopefully see other pups. Wish us luck!

Fools Fall in Tennessee

In our first year in Tennessee, we didn’t really notice there was a “fools fall” in Tennessee.

It’s basically where the weather tricks you into thinking it’s fall (i.e., the weather gets cooler for a few weeks) and then it gets hot again.

So, we also wanted to take in this last little bit of cool weather before it gets super-hot again.

We’re hopeful “real fall” comes quick!

Almost daily, we find ourselves amazed at the beauty of Tennessee. It’s both breath-taking and breath-giving at the same time.

Even though the weather is starting to heat up again, the trees all know what’s about to happen. They’ve started changing colors and it’s just so beautiful seeing the variety of colors.

Nature truly is amazing.

This hike gave us the overwhelming feeling of appreciation that this is our home. We’ve been in Tennessee for over a year, but we often still find ourselves amazed and appreciative that we call this place home.

Sharing the hike with Melissa and Lucia too is the cherry on top.

It just feels to me like the ultimate form of unconditional love – nature, puppy love, and the woman whom my heart is connected to.

There is not a truer expression of love out there.

Well, maybe if we had a baby too. That has been a frequent discussion in our house, but we won’t go there today…

The Joy a Dog Brings to Life

Before getting a pup, we had always been concerned with what our lives would look like after getting a dog.

Would we be free to travel? Would our dog be fun, or would we not like it very much (sounds terrible, I know)? Would our sleep schedule be altered permanently?

After having a dog for 7 months now, it has been one of the best things I’ve ever acquired.

Yes, our travel planning now requires an extra step of planning and an extra expense, but that is nothing compared to the daily joy and love that has been brought into our household.

Some days feel harder than others, especially when the dog has so much energy because I didn’t want to run her that day, but it’s also fun that I now have a buddy to do outdoor activities with.

She’s also a love bug. Endless cuddles make it so worth it too!

Right up our alley – filled with love and energy!

Join us as we enjoy this beautiful fools fall day in Tennessee!
