Hey! I'm Melissa! I’m a lifestyle content creator, wife, and mama living in Nashville with my husband and our two little ones! I’m learning to slow down and build a life that’s rooted in what matters—faith, family, and presence. I’m not perfect, but every day I try to choose love, gratitude, and growth over pressure and perfection. My goal with this space is to share honest moments and creative inspiration that help you feel less alone and more connected to the beauty of everyday life.

ABOUT US

Our primary bedroom makeover is not going as planned!

If you haven’t seen phase one of our primary bedroom makeover, check that out first! It was WAY more successful than the beginning of phase two…

Ever since we got a house, we go to Home Depot for fun.

We love the Home Depot smell and the garden section, but our wallet definitely doesn’t like it!

We use YNAB to budget our money and are good at setting aside money to continually work on house projects, but we always end up spending more than we planned.

That’s the beauty of budgeting through..learning to set a plan and adjust.

This weekend we went to Home Depot and Melissa had this “great” idea to refinish our bedside tables.

So we purchased a sander (not budgeted for) and the wood finish thinking we could bang out this project in a weekend and have our bedroom looking even more cozy.

Spoiler alert: We didn’t finish the project in a weekend and we’re now going on week four.

We got home and Melissa excitedly changed into her overalls. I always know when she changes into her working overalls, she means business.

Melissa was stoked to get started and I was nervous. And tired.

We cleaned off the bedside tables and moved them down to the garage to begin to ruin them.

Using the electric sander was the fun part. Easy peasy.

Once we got through the electric sander part, the regret started to kick in.

Wow! The nooks and crannies are so much harder than we expected!

Our fingers were sore almost immediately and we realized we bit off more than we could chew.

This project was not going to be finished in one weekend.

Maybe two? Nope. Three? Nope.

We’re going on week 4 now and have battled many quitting attempts.

What’s perfect is that when Melissa is ready to quit, I keep us going and when I want to quit, she keeps us going.

Teamwork makes the dream work.
