Transitioning from an apartment to a house has been difficult from a Christmas holiday decor perspective.

When we had the apartment, it was so easy to create a holiday feeling throughout the whole apartment. Now that we have the house, our existing decor makes one half of a room feel the holiday spirit.

It’s one of those things that are overlooked in the home buying process. I’m not sure it should be in front of my mind because it’s a luxury to be able to decorate, but it’s a consideration.

Getting home decor is expensive and it adds up fast!

We used YNAB this year (which completely changed the money game for us) to help save for gifts throughout the year and so we included some spending on Christmas decor in that savings.
